Welcome to Mt.Vernon Baptist Temple Church

The Mt.Vernon Baptist Temple Church is an independent fundamental Baptist church located where the Interstates of I-64 and I -57 come together in southern Illinois in the Mt.Vernon Illinois community.Our church is easily accessible from anywhere in the greater Mt.Vernon city area. Our church facilities are located one mile north of the I-64 and State Rt. 37 exchange/exit.Our church and Christian school are located on the corner of Woodland Dr. and State Rt.37.

There are more than 15,000 independent Baptist churches in America and at least 10,000 independent Baptist missionaries serving on mission fields worldwide.

Every independent Baptist church is an autonomous congregation. We are self- governing and self-supporting. The head of the church is the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible is our sole authority for faith and practice. It is our desire to be a truly New Testament church.

At the Mt.Vernon Baptist Temple Church, though we have one message-the message of the Lord Jesus Christ, and one ministry-the ministry He has given us to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature, the church is also the home of Mt.Vernon Christian School Academy facilities next to the church, a private Christian school providing Christ-centered education for kindergarten through the twelfth grade. The church also serves as the home of several area ministries,such as Jail/Prison incarceration ministries.
